The food was extremely delicious and beautifully presented. The kitchen was quick, we didn't have to wait long - great! But the waitress (?) Was impossible. When entering it was said: What !! ?? 8 people? I'm here all alone today ... And the look on my face spoke volumes. We would have liked to have ordered a dessert or other drinks, but our dishes were simply not cleared and our table was ignored, only when we went to the bar and asked for the bill she came back to our table - a shame. There is also only 1 star deduction because the people in the kitchen did such a good job and the premises are so cozy. In addition, a request to the operator of this inn: Criticism should always be understood as an opportunity to improve something and not be taken as a personal insult.

We wanted to reserve a table and were very rudely turned away with a reference to the current lunch business. Basically understandable, but the tone on the phone. Absolutely not a good first impression.

Food great, but the waiting time can be improved , when one of the people at the table gets their starter after 30 minutes and the other after 90 minutes is not so nice

I went to lunch with my family today. The food was very tasty. A compliment to the cook. But the service (the two women) damage the reputation. This unkindness that was shown to us today is a shame. The vicious tone when the drinks were served and when we wanted to order dessert after the main course, they answered with very unfriendly words. This is not how you should treat guests. What is it called: "The sound makes the music". In any case, we lost our appetite for dessert !!!!

Nice service, great food, good price and a great atmosphere. Only the toilets can be found across the courtyard, which doesn't really mean a deduction.

Very nice destination with a great restaurant. The food is very tasty and plentiful and recommendable. Owner Ronny is also a great host. We would love to come back.

Would love to give more stars. You can do this without hesitation for the delicious kitchen. Definitely try it out. Unfortunately, when it comes to reservations, one regularly gets entangled in contradictions. Already happened several times and only therefore mentioned here. First we wanted to make reservations for a larger group from afternoon to evening. Lots of sales guaranteed. It was said that this was fundamentally not possible, as the tables would be kept free for walk-in customers, i.e. hikers and walkers. A good reason, let's think, and bring the sales to someone else. Then it is essential to reserve in the evening, not at lunchtime, from the above. Reason. OK. Further. We as strollers at noon on a weekday and only three people: unfortunately everything is full, the only free table is reserved. Funny. That is actually not what we want. The ascent literally for free. Last but not least, our request to give us at least one coffee outside so that we can wait for a "free" table ... rejected. Anyone could do it then. Well ... why not? And who is this "everyone"? Sales come to mind. The landlord too. It may be enough for him without us as guests. A real shame.

Unfortunately, can't report anything positive, was rejected after a long walk, Since I had not made a reservation, but also the question about a drink which I would have had while standing outside, was rejected. In 40 years of traveling, eating and drinking, this has never happened to me in any other country. So I'm hungry and thirsty back down the mountain.

The "Dumpling Trio with Salad" is a culinary delight! You should definitely try it! Nice service, good service and the landscape is heavenly! We would love to come back!

Very nice restaurant in the tower. Food was delicious, large portions. Staff was friendly. Tower can also be climbed and you will be rewarded with a great view. Price performance was okay. A reservation is recommended for several people.

Nice staff, the dumplings are awesome! Very tasty and if you want to try all 3 dumplings, you should definitely order it. We'd love to come back! Everything clean and fast service.

After we had climbed the ascent to the tower and also this ourselves, a slight feeling of hunger spread. Democratically we decided to go to the local inn. We were not disappointed, on the contrary. Fair prices and very tasty dishes spoiled our palate. The dumplings and the cordon bleu are particularly recommended!

Not to be recommended at all. Waited over half an hour without anyone serving us. It was the second unsuccessful visit. I live in the area and wish all the restaurateurs in my home country good business, but such business conduct is absolutely impossible.

It was very nice there 20 years ago and much nicer today. Highly recommended as a spontaneous destination in the middle of the beautiful Thuringian Forest. Very tasty cuisine e.g. I can only recommend super delicious dumplings and very good meat. The service is also super friendly. We will be back definitely. See you soon...

We recommend. Very delicious food, which is a little different than the otherwise regional typical. It is advisable to reserve in advance, whereby all guests found space during the week and a place for hikers will certainly still be found. Due to the weather it was only cultivated inside, otherwise there would be plenty of space outside. The kiosk next to the tower is definitely open when the weather is nice. Despite Corona a very relaxed atmosphere.

Hello, the lady who served us is kind. The food is fine. Small selection of food. Prices are ok. The interior is totally outdated and demode. Flies are ringing all around us. Anyway come on.

New operator who goes out of his way to have a pleasant stay. The lunch is freshly prepared and the portions are very large. Also with children a very nice place with playground and green way. You can sit inside or outside. For larger groups it is recommended to order on Monday and Tuesday is day off and from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 20:00 clock with enough guests and turnover also longer open. Take a look at the pictures of the beautiful outdoor area.

We went there for the tower you can climb for having a stunning view. There is also an outdoor playground worth to check out with the children.

Cute little family owned restaurant. If you're looking for old school, kinda stuck in a time warp, this is your place. Loved the food!
